I do not think my blood pressure readings are accurate. What should I do?

If you do not think your blood pressure reading is accurate, ensure you are following all the proper instructions:

    • Sit on a chair with your feet flat on the floor and arm resting on lap/table
    • Wrap cuff tightly around your upper arm with the cord facing down
    • Rest for a few minutes before taking your blood pressure
    • Remember to stay quiet, still and calm

After following these instructions, if you still think your reading is not accurate, please try testing your blood pressure on another cuff (if available) and compare the two readings.

You may also always contact the Medly Coordinator at the heart function clinic by phone or email. The number for the Medly Coordinator is provided in your Medly manual, or you can email us through the Contact Us page.
